Forgive me, that wasn’t me back there
Allow me to show you I still care
If you could take all of those mistakes and just chalk it up to experience

I know my record doesn’t show
A flawless background, but this we know
All I’m asking is for a chance
To end up with a different circumstance

Tell me that it’s not too late
And tell me you’ll give me a clean slate

Adversities get the best of me
Yet I’m told that problems are progress
